A Lineup of Lid Scrubs for Anterior and Posterior Blepharitis

In my practice, I see a lot of patients with dry eye disease and meibomian gland dysfunction. As we all know, dry eye will get worse if left untreated. Dry eye patients deserve to feel comfortable and have their vision as good as possible.

When I see a patient with either anterior or posterior blepharitis, my primary objective is to get rid of the offending agent. How It Works

The lid scrub cleanser helps remove oil, debris, pollen and other contaminants from the eyelids and eyelashes to relieve irritation. When my patients use the foam cleansers, they wash their hands first to remove any contaminants and then rub the lather onto the lids and eyelashes. OCuSOFT Lid Scrub Original Foaming Eyelid Cleanser is intended for mild to moderate conditions and should be rinsed off. I recommend that my patients use this cleanser while showering to thoroughly wash away debris from the lids.

OCuSOFT also has another formulation called OCuSOFT Lid Scrub Plus Foaming Eyelid Cleanser that not only removes the meibomian debris from the lids and lashes but also has anti-bacterial properties. Application of OCuSOFT Lid Scrub Plus Foaming Eyelid Cleanser is the same as the original formulation but can be left to dry on the lid. This leave-on formulation is intended for moderate to severe cases and is also available in the ready-to-use, self-saturating OCuSOFT Lid Scrub Plus Swabstix. For severe cases, OCuSOFT Lid Scrub Plus Platinum Foam contains PSG-2, a proprietary formulation that includes phytosphingosine, which reportedly offers both anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
