The iDesign Advanced WaveScan Studio System takes 1,200 readings of the eye within a three second scan. It measures parameters such as the shape of the cornea, the passage of light through the eye, and pupil size under different illumination. The new technology allows physicians to offer LASIK for people with higher levels of astigmatism and those that have unusual pupil sizes.
