Retaine MGD Ophthalmic Emulsion is a lipid-replenishing formula that utilizes electrostatic attraction to stabilize the tear film and protect against moisture loss. This product is preservative-free.
Retaine is a good lubricant that provides all day relief and visual comfort. I would definitely recommend this product to my colleagues for dry eye patients.
I use Retaine and like it for most MGD patients with dry eye. It works great and patients seem to really like it as it has no side effects.
I have used Retaine for my extreme dry eye patients, and their responses have been very well received.
Retaine MGD is an excellent unit dose, preservative free artificial tear. It is marketed outside the U.S. as Cationorm, Santen, Osaka, Japan. As a cationic emulsion, it has a sophisticated formula that contains mineral oil and replenishes all three layers of the tear film. Retaine MGD also contains Novasorb, a proprietary cationic oil-in-water nano emulsion technology with novel bioadhesive properties. Residence time on the ocular surface and drug bioavailability are enhanced because this technology utilizes the electrostatic interactions between the negatively charged ocular surface epithelium and the positively charged oil nano droplets. Electrostatic forces allow the emulsion to spread evenly over the conjunctive and cornea. Tear osmolarity is improved by the hypoosmotic properties of Retaine MGD. These unique properties provide effective, non-blurring, and long lasting relief for my patients with dry eye.
It's a good product for dry eyes. Retaine MGD is easy to use and it's a preservative drop. Patients say that it is a comfortable, non-irritating formula.
This is my favorite preservative-free AT that is emollient-rich to help my evaporative DED patients! Very soothing eyedrop. My patients love it!
Without question, the best preservative-free lipid-restorative ocular lubricant available today. This is our drop of choice for patients with MGD and evaporative dry eye.
Retaine MGD is a great preservative free drop for patients who suffer from evaporative dry eye. Our patients love its non-irritating formula because it relieves their ocular irritation and provides them with long lasting comfort.
